The train is my new favorite way to travel. I’m taking an Amtrak up to WI for a weekend of brewery tours, a steak house, and helping my in-laws set up their new iPhones.
Amtrak is great:
- No security/TSA theater
- no turbulence
- roomier seats in coach
- Heineken and M&Ms
- working from my iPad thanks to 3G I’ve already paid for and not having to buy expensive WiFi in the sky
- a quiet ride
- plenty of interestingness flying by my window
I was just talking about this the other day. Traveling by train might be longer but I can do it in a more peaceful way without having to go through security and deal with all that fun. The other good thing about train travel is sometimes it’s just plain cheaper than air.
