Apple Releases Safari 5
I’m surprised this little announcement was swept under the rug today given Apple’s push for HTML5 and all. Anyways, it’s always fun to try out new software and this is the best time to do so.
The update seems to be slowly seeding out and includes:
- A 30% faster Javascript runtime
- Extensions!
- A Reader button (which puts the page’s content into a distraction-free, easy to read format)
- Lots of new HTML5 modules/features like form validation, draggable, EventSource and WebSocket.

I hope that it makes it so that Safari doesn’t die while I’m trying to watch Netflix
